  • Greet patients and explain dental care treatment plans so they feel comfortable during the appointment
  • Take and document vital signs and medical history for patient records, take x-rays of patients’ mouths, and apply a topical anesthetic for dental procedures, if necessary
  • Prepare and layout sterilized equipment, dental instruments, anesthetics, dental supplies, and materials inside treatment rooms for examinations and dental procedures
  • Assist dentists/dental hygienists during any procedures or examinations by handing off dental instruments, providing suction, and ensuring chair-side accessibility to the team
  • Adhere to all dental office infection control policies and safety regulations by disinfecting and sterilizing all equipment and instruments after use
  • Schedule appointments for patient care follow up, answer any questions they may have about dental hygiene, and provide postoperative instructions with methods for infection control of the patients’ teeth and gums, after procedures
Additional Duties

Will also assist patients with the processing of dental insurance claims and management of relationships with insurance carriers. Contact insurance companies and patients regarding coverage determinations and outstanding balances. Research and resolve insurance billing issues. Set up any financial arrangements and collect payments from patients and insurance companies. Manage outstanding insurance claims.

Additional duties include facilitating the patient’s office experience in being seamless and ensure the patient leaves well informed and prepared for their next appointment. This includes ensuring the patient understands their treatment plan, the benefits of treatment, insurance benefits, assisting with financial arrangements and coordination of appointments AND;

  • Greet patients who enter the office warmly
  • Schedule, cancel, and reschedule patient appointments as needed
  • Assist patients in filling out required forms
  • Collect payment from patients
  • File insurance claims and track their progress
  • Maintain office inventory
  • Perform office duties such as document filing, scanning, and copying
  • Communicate with dental supply vendors
  • Assist in helping to setup and break down rooms (sterilization, etc.) as needed
  • Any other duties as assigned at the employer’s discretion
All employees are required to assist and maintain routine dental office cleaning checklist.

  • Skilled in use of standard office equipment, including telephones, calculators, copiers, fax, computers, and computer software (Office and practice management software)

Education and Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • State licensed as a Registered Dental Assistant (RDA)
  • Current BLS/CPR certification is required
  • Previous dental assisting experience as a registered dental assistant or certified dental assistant (3 years) is necessary

  • Occasional exposure to toxic or caustic chemicals and radiation
  • Exposure to moderate noise levels
  • Exposure to hectic, fast-paced, high-anxiety environments
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Salary: $18.00 - $25.00 per hour
